Not every project fits a standard detail. Some involve unusual architecture, older construction, limited access, or a difficult connection between new and existing work. Those are often the projects where early engineering input helps most.

I work directly with architects, contractors, builders, owners, and fabricators to develop a solution that meets the structural requirements and makes sense to build.

Typical projects include custom wood, timber, and steel framing; complex renovations and additions; structural modifications and retrofits; retaining walls; fire escapes and exterior stairs; specialty connections; and unusual architectural details.

Renovations often come with incomplete records, nonstandard construction, and surprises behind the finishes. I evaluate the conditions that exist and design around the building you have—not the building someone expected to find.
