About F&E Engineering

You work directly with the engineer.

I’m Jim Orfitelli, a Professional Engineer and the founder of F&E Engineering. I started the firm to give clients direct access to an experienced engineer who understands both design and construction.

Over the past 20-plus years, I’ve worked in engineering, design, construction, and operations management. That background matters when an existing building does not match the drawings, access is tight, or a detail that works on paper does not make sense in the field.

My job is to listen, look carefully at the conditions, explain the engineering in plain language, and develop a solution that can actually be built.

I help with structural inspections, residential and light commercial design, foundations, framing, repairs, retrofits, shoring, specialty structures, and construction questions that come up after work begins.

I’m licensed in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. F&E Engineering is based in Manchester, Connecticut, and is fully insured.
